Good Times!

Chis and i just got back from these duet shows. what a time! i was really nervous bc i'm not used to playing shows this stripped down, unless its in my hometown where i'm comfy. but lo and behold, i had a fucking blast. so did chris. thanks so much to everyone who came out and thanks to whoever the dude was who gave me those cables. they're awesome! i thought of a title for my new record..."mondo amore" what do you guys think?

here is a video from last nights show at sonar:

Beautiful performance.

"mondo amore"... is that supposed to be an Italian translation of "A Love Extreme," as in a nod to Benji Hughes? Ultimately, it is what that phrase means to you and how it relates to the songs you've compiled for the album that matters.

Awesome show in D.C.! It was really great to see you and Chris performing stripped down versions of songs in such an intimate setting. I agree that the show was awkward since it was 75 people sitting/standing in a small, hot room; but it was definitely one to remember.

Of the new songs, I definitely loved "Cry Cry Cry" and "Hotel Plaster." "Cry" has an alt-country "Darkness" feel, and I think that's a great direction for you. "Hotel Plaster" is such a unique song. It caught my attention. I think "Running in Place" is definitely dramatic, and "Civil War" would sound pretty great with your full band. "The Tower" and "Darkness," of course, are amazing.

Whatever happened to the song "Vultures" that you played last summer at Austin City Limits Festival? I thought it was rad.

Nicole,

I was the guy the left you the cables! I have to say that it was worth it to drive to DC to see you perform. It's nice to see an artist who is actually better live than in the studio. I really liked the small venue and you and Chris were great. I was glad to read your post that said the cables were awesome! I am looking forward to seeing you perform again. Maybe in Michigan!

I can't imagine you will be nervous ever again when performing this way! Tuly beautiful!

You've got no reason to be nervous about a stripped down show with a voice like that. Seriously.

Loved the video clip! If you head-out to Texas/Vegas soon (or anywhere in the southwest vicinity), could you please swing by Flagstaff? We are in desperate need of great music and performances!

I almost forgot how fucking awesome you sound live. Come back to Chicago! I like "mondo amore" - simple with a hint of elegance

hehe that is so my video! And I've got a lot more where that came from. Just say the word girl. =)

My first trip to the aquarium was super exciting, but I must say, you totally made my spring break!!! I am lovin' the "couch-fainting music" (which is such an apt description btw!) so much. I can't stop listening to the new songs, especially Hotel Plaster and Call Me the Witch. Can't wait to see you again, with or without the band, it's all good.

I really like the album name, but shouldn't it be "mondo l'amore"? I don't speak very good Italian so I may be wrong!

Hi, all. This is off-topic but something I thought our host would appreciate. Hopefully she's still reviewing our comments. :-)

Wowsers! I was at this show, I took my girlfriend. She loved it sooo much when her best friend visits from New Hampshire we're driving up to Asbury Park to see you next month! Can't wait. I'm bringing more friends who have since seen this video and shit themselves that they didn't come.

By the way, I was taking some photos that night (I think I was the only person not using a flash) and I'd love to get them to you somehow. Maybe I can throw some onstage next month?
